Skylon is situated on the third floor of the Royal Festival Hall in the Southbank Centre and offers stunning views from huge floor-to-ceiling windows. The main restaurant features modern British cuisine from Executive Head Chef Tom Cook, while the grill offers more informal cooking and a relaxed atmosphere. The two dining areas are separated by a stunning centerpiece bar, which is renowned across London for its fabulous cocktails. Skylon takes its name from the original iconic structure that was built for the 1951 Festival of Britain. The restaurants design echoes the style of the Royal Festival Hall during the same period, with unique contemporary touches. Skylon is a D&D London restaurant located in Royal Festival Hall, with panoramic views across the River Thames, and comprising of a beautiful restaurant, stylish grill & destination bar. D&D London stands for CEO Des Gunewardena and MD David Loewi who led the buyout of Conran Restaurants in September 2006. The company has been backed by leading UK equity house LDC since April 2013 and owns and operates over 30 leading restaurants in London, Leeds, Paris, New York and Tokyo. Located within the iconic Royal Festival Hall, Skylon, offers a spectacular panorama of Londons skyline with floor to ceiling glass windows overlooking the River Thames. Skylon is divided into three distinct areas restaurant, bar and grill with bespoke, bronze-coloured chandeliers that punctuate the space. We have various spaces, which can accommodate large and small parties, from intimate private dinners of up to 60 guests to large group bookings of up to 150 people. Alternatively, you can exclusively hire the whole venue, which can host up to 500 guests for standing or up to 300 guests for seated events. Furthermore, Skylon can provide catering in other private spaces around the Southbank Centre and also has a destination bar, which is legendary for its inventive cocktails.
